Aesop x Hiroki Philadelphia
Scented Activation at local amenity account
Sleeping moss, waking trees.
For the opening of Wm. Mulherin’s Sons’ omakase sushi restaurant, Hiroki, Aesop arranged a permanent scent activation within the space. The restaurant and Aesop’s Hwyl Eau de Parfum share their source of inspiration: the ancient Hiba Tree forests of Japan.
A fragrance of dark green moods, Hwyl Eau de Parfum recalls imagery of an ancient Japanese forest. The looming Hiba trees and ground dwelling Hinoki cypress have a symbiotic relationship: the Hinoki flourishes because of the light the that the Hiba lets into the forest. Hwyl observes the notion that nature relies on a distance between things—that longing calls for a permanent negotiation of nearness and separation.
For guests curious about the scent, we created a bespoke receipt card to illuminate this olfactory facet of their dining experience.
